Bathing Boxes

The iconic beach boxes, or ‘bathing boxes’ have a rich history dating back to the 1800’s when women used them as changing rooms because it was considered ‘indecent’ to undress in public.

Technically no more than a shed with no water or electricity, many of these historic beach boxes are now worth a fair price.

The beach box is a symbol for a lazy summer’s day at the beach and have now become a tourist attraction.
